New PEDIGREE Foundation Accepts Grant Applications:
Helps Dogs in Need Find Loving Homes

NASHVILLE, TN — New funding opportunities are available for shelters and breed rescues across the country through support from the newly established PEDIGREE Foundation.

The Foundation is officially accepting grant requests through an online web application process. All shelters and breed rescues with 501(c)(3) status are encouraged to create an account on www.PedigreeFoundation.org.

Questions regarding the organization's background, operational information, and grant agreements will confirm eligibility. Once qualifying questions are completed, shelters and breed rescues will be given access to grant applications.

"We want to make this a simple application process so that shelters and breed rescues can continue to do the good work of helping dogs in need find loving homes," said John Anton,
The PEDIGREE Foundation's board president.

Applications will be reviewed and approved by the Foundation's Board of Directors. Grants then will be distributed based on Foundation monies raised, number of applicants, the size of each shelter/breed rescue organization and how many dogs it helps. The deadline for all grant applications is September 30, 2010.

Because of their love for dogs, PEDIGREE® Food For Dogs created The PEDIGREE Foundation to help shine a spotlight on the plight of homeless dogs. Through no fault of their own, more than four million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescues every year. Sadly, nearly half of those canines never find a place to call home, a trend that PEDIGREE® Brand hopes to help reverse.
