The PEDIGREE Foundation is working to find a solution to the problem of the millions of homeless dogs in this country. Through our grant programs, we support organizations that save the lives of dogs that would otherwise be lost.
The PEDIGREE Foundation is proud to have awarded 4,740 grants to qualified shelters and rescue organizations since 2008. To see which organizations received our grants in the past, browse the list of grant recipients here.
Shelters and Rescues of all sizes and in locations all over the U.S. are encouraged to apply annually to receive cash awards from the PEDIGREE Foundation. Our grants specifically support efforts to increase the number of dogs adopted into loving homes.
Applications for 2017 Innovation Grants, Program Development Grants, and Operation Grants are now being accepted. Applicants may submit applications for more than one grant program, but only one grant will be awarded to an organization in any grant cycle.
The deadline for completed applications for all grants is May 15, 2017.
Failure to comply with reporting requirements for previous grants will eliminate organizations from consideration in 2017.
All applicants for PEDIGREE Foundation grants must hold a current 501(c)(3) designation from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. The use of a 501 (c)(3) third party as a fiscal agent is prohibited. If your status is not current for any reason, your application will be denied.
Operation Grants are awarded in amounts up to $1,000 and may be used for general operating expenses. To be considered for an Operation Grant, organizations must complete an online application and demonstrate a plan for the use of the funds. They must also agree to maintain acceptable standards of care for their dogs.
Program Development Grants are awarded in amounts from $1,000 to $10,000. The funds may be used to implement new programs, capital improvements or support the expansion of current programs that increase their numbers of canine adoptions.
Innovation Grants are awarded in amounts ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 for programs that focus specifically on the initial implementation of creative and innovative programs that increase the number of canine adoptions. Capital improvements are not funded through Innovation Grants but can be applied for under our Program Development Grant as noted above.
To receive a grant, organizations must complete an online application that demonstrates sound management, financial stability, and a well-conceived plan for the use of the grant money. The Foundation also reserves the right to visit any applicant for the purpose of verifying the application data and confirming the standards of care under which the dogs are kept.
