Austin Pets Alive! maintains comprehensive, innovative programs designed to save the animals most at risk for euthanasia. By developing these programs, they have saved more than 25,000 dogs and cats since 2008. Funds from the PEDIGREE Foundation Innovation Grant will support a new program of post adoption services targeted at encouraging faster adoptions of long-stay dogs. | Austin | TX | $25,000 |
Kentucky Humane Society! advocates the humane treatment of companion animals through leadership and proactive solutions to pet overpopulation, including adoptions, education and spay/neuter efforts. They requested the PEDIGREE Foundation Innovation Grant to support the PROUD Program, which places shelter dogs with local military veterans and active military personnel who have in interest in canine training and behavior. The program will train participants how to provide behavioral rehabilitation to shelter dogs that are considered difficult to adopt because of behavioral issues. PROUD will allow military handlers to gain new skills, along with the knowledge that they are providing a lifesaving service to dogs in need. | Louisville | KY | $25,000 |
