PEDIGREE Foundation Newsletter – October 2019

Friends,

I’m so pleased to share that through the third quarter, 2019 continues to be a great year for dogs and for PEDIGREE Foundation. Our fundraising has been strong, gear sales are growing, and we look forward to announcing many grants to deserving shelters and rescues in December.

At the same time, we are reaching more and more people to talk about pet homelessness and the impact you make when you adopt, volunteer or donate. This month, after a great live event in Nashville, The Love of Dogs Benefit Concert aired on the Hallmark Channel, bringing this message directly into homes around the country.

I hope you’ll click through on the updates below for examples of the progress we’re making. Every dog deserves a loving home, and we’re so grateful for your partnership as we keep working toward that day.

Celebrating The Love of Dogs

In October, more than 600 attendees joined us at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville for The Love of Dogs Benefit Concert. Then it aired on the Hallmark Channel, reaching homes around the country.

The show featured amazing music from Lee Brice, Hunter Hayes and Easton Corbin, and was emceed by Larissa Wohl of Hallmark’s Home & Family. Attendees to the VIP pre-show reception also saw a great acoustical performance from rising country artist Jillian Cardarelli.

The entire evening was a fantastic celebration of dogs, and we’re so grateful to the artists and to Hallmark.

Combined with our Fifth Annual Golf Tournament the next morning, this two-day fundraiser brought more than $365,000 for shelter and rescue grants. It was the first year the golf tournament was open to the public, and nearly 150 golfers joined the event to help raise funds.

Plus, the televised concert included a new text-to-donate format that helped more individuals contribute.

Thank you to everyone who took part in these events and who gave to support the Foundation! And please, keep giving. We want to help as many shelters and rescues as possible, to help as many dogs as possible.

LeAnn Rimes Gives Hope to Dogs

Thank you, LeAnn Rimes! In July, she chose PEDIGREE Foundation to be her charity of choice in her partnership with ONEHOPE Wine.

ONEHOPE pairs its exceptional wines with nonprofit partners to “inspire people to indulge while doing good too.” LeAnn partnered with them on a Signature Series Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon.

PEDIGREE Foundation is honored to have been a beneficiary of this great program.

See How Your Donations Help Dogs

Earlier this month, we published our 2018 Impact Report, which highlights dogs we’ve helped and the progress you have supported to end pet homelessness.

Since 2008, PEDIGREE Foundation has helped give thousands of dogs a better chance to be adopted. In 2018 alone, nearly 250 grants gave more than $615,000 in support to shelters and rescues.

Get Your Gear On!

Inside of PEDIGREE Foundation store

Once again in the third quarter, sales of our DOGS RULE.® gear helped generate more dollars for shelter and rescue grants. Since June, we’ve had pop-up gear shops at numerous events including:

  • ONEHOPE Wine launch
  • Tennessee Titan’s Season Kick-Off event
  • Mars Great Meadow International three-day equestrian event
  • Super Zoo pet industry conference
  • Pilgrimage Music Festival
  • Love of Dogs Benefit Concert and Golf Tournament

Just as exciting, our new online store is now open! We have so much great gear – the perfect gift for every dog lover you know. Best of all, all proceeds from gear sales go directly to shelter and rescue grants that help dogs.

Stay Tuned, There’s More to Come

If you follow us on Facebook, you know we have a fun fundraiser underway where you can make Halloween portraits of your pup. Stay tuned for the next phase coming for the holiday season.

Plus, we’ll be announcing our 2019 grants on Giving Tuesday. It’s always a great day when we get to help so many organizations that do such good for dogs. And we couldn’t do it without you.

Thanks so much, again, for your continuing support of PEDIGREE Foundation. Every dog deserves a loving home. We so appreciate your support in making that happen.
